Singing with the Golden Stairs Quartet was one of the highlights of my life!

Back in the '60s, I sang in a gospel group by the name of Golden Stairs Quartet. I traveled with the band, and we even made an album while we were together! During this time, I had the chance to share the stage with a few other quartets, including Florida Boys and Blue Ridge Quartet. One time we traveled to Memphis for a gospel convention. While we were there, I met Elvis Presley. This was when he was just getting started. I also met Johnny Cash, and I have a signed picture of him. I had a great time singing – it was one of the highlights of my life!
